Gov. Janet Mills’ performance standards for CMP with sanctions is a terrific idea. Let’s not stop there! Why not include landline telephone service and internet providers? I have not experienced what many have claimed for bad experiences with CMP. They have always taken my calls, resolved my issues and been very timely in doing so. Customer service has been very helpful and willing to see the issues resolved.

Consolidated Communications is not in the same boat. I have not been able to use their website and have trouble reaching them in order to pay my bills. According to the site I don’t have an account with them, and when I call to fix it, they lead me through a never-ending set of steps, which they say I’ll have to repeat again next time. They should be held accountable.

So let’s give the governor’s idea a chance. It’s sure better that the other options.
