Two Jefferson authors, both named Kay, are scheduled to give an informal book talk and book signing at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 5.
The event is to be held at the Jefferson Market and General Store, 242 Waldoboro Road in Jefferson.
“The Last Resort,” penned by Kay Tobler Liss, features a New Yorker who escapes the city to the end of Long Island and finds himself in nature and a friendship with a Native American.
Kay Hardy Campbell’s novel, “The Sons of Fez,” is a time travel adventure set in the city of Fez, Morocco.
Tobler Liss wrote for newspapers and magazines for many years, and taught literature at the high school and college levels but had always wanted to write a novel. “The Last Resort” combines both her passion for nature and for social justice for oppressed people.
She is at work on a second novel that deals with how nature can not only save people as individuals but help them find common ground with others.
Campbell majored in Arabic at university and lived for several years in Saudi Arabia, the setting for her first novel, “A Caravan of Brides.”
Campbell writes about Arab culture for AramcoWorld Magazine, and is a director of the Arabic Music Retreat.
A snow date has been scheduled for March 12. For more information, email [email protected] or call 207-549-5490.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
