Recently I babysat a 6-year-old girl. She was wearing unicorn-print pants.
On Monday I saw a picture of a 6-year-old girl in unicorn pants being carried into a hospital, dead or dying from Putin’s killers shelling of her home in Ukraine.
The photo was soon taken down. Instead, it should be spread like the Vietnam photo of the burned girl running from a napalm bombing.
Neville Chamberlain said, “How horrible, fantastic, incredible it is that we should be digging trenches and trying on gas masks here because of a quarrel in a far-away country between people of whom we know nothing.”
We know how well compromise and appeasement worked for getting “peace in our time.”
