UNITY — The Ecology Learning Center plans to hold the second part of its Fermentation Workshop Series on Sourdough from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, at the 230 Main St. center.
Local baker Michael Scholz of Albion Bread will share his knowledge about the living yeast that will bubble up bread. He will give participants some starter and Maine Grains flour to take home, according to a news release from the center.
Upcoming fermentation workshops will include Kombucha & Beyond in April, Miso-Making in May, and Pickles & Sauerkraut in June.
To support this and future community programs, participants are asked to bring a suggested donation of $15.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
