Sharman Claire Shostak

NAPLES, Fla. – We will remember Sharman Claire Shostak’s wide smile, her dancing spirit and her loyalty to those she loved. She was a force of nature; seemingly undeterred by anything and as strong-willed as they come. A lawyer by trade, she was smart, introspective, enigmatic and wholly dedicated to equal rights and justice.

Sharman was a triathlete, she ran marathons, played tennis and she was a field hockey star in high school. She lived a rich life of adventure and independence. Her spirit can be seen in the turquoise blue waters of the Caribbean Sea, the Gulf of Mexico and in the lakes and lupines of Maine. Her smile lives on through her daughter, Titiana Shostak-Kinker of Naples, Fla.

She passed away on Feb. 25, 2022, in her loving daughter’s arms with two of her best friends by her side.

She is survived by four brothers and sisters in Maine, John Jr., Jeff, Diane and Craig Shostak; plus several nieces and nephews.

Sharman grew up in Augusta and attended Boston University, the University of Denver and Franklin Pierce Law School. She practiced family law in Vermont, Maine and Florida. Her brilliant mind and wild nature will be missed by many.
