NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Robert Thomas scored his second goal with 2:38 left as the St. Louis Blues beat the Nashville Predators 7-4 Saturday for their second straight win.
Thomas also had an assist for the Blues, who were second in the Central Division and padded their lead over Nashville to five points with the Predators in the first wild-card spot in the Western Conference.
David Perron also had two goals, including an empty-netter with 1:57 left, and Justin Faulk added a second empty-net goal 24 seconds later.
Brandon Saad and Torey Krug each had a goal and an assist as St. Louis improved to 2-0-1 in the season series with Nashville. Jordan Kyrou had three assists.
Goalie Ville Husso made several great saves in the third against Nashville, including on Ryan Johansen’s shot right in front and Mikael Granlund’s wrister toward an open net that he stopped with his right skate. He made 31 saves for the win.
HURRICANES 3, FLYERS 1: Jordan Martinook broke a tie with 3:50 remaining, his first goal in 18 games since returning to the lineup, and Carolina won at home.
Martinook’s third goal of the season came on a redirection of Vincent Trocheck’s shot as a long shift was winding down.
Steven Lorentz scored first for Carolina, which has earned at least one point in 13 straight home games for the second-longest stretch in franchise history. Sebastian Aho added an empty-netter with 20.9 seconds left.
Frederik Andersen made 28 saves in his first game since March 3 after dealing with an undisclosed ailment, and the Metropolitan Division-leading Hurricanes defeated the last-place Flyers.
DEVILS 2, DUCKS 1: Tomas Tatar and Jesper Bratt scored in a shootout and Nico Daws stopped both Anahein attempts to lead New Jersey to a victory over the visiting Ducks.
Tatar also scored in regulation and Daws made 33 saves as New Jersey won three of the four games on its homestand.
BLACKHAWKS 6, SENATORS 3: Jonathan Toews and Caleb Jones each scored twice and Chicago rallied for a win at Ottawa.
Down 2-0 after the first period, Chicago scored four times in the second to take a 4-3 lead.
FLAMES 3, RED WINGS 0: Elias Lindholm scored his career-high 30th goal and Jacob Markstrom made 19 saves for his league-leading ninth shutout to lead Calgary to a win at home.
Tyler Toffoli and Blake Coleman also scored for Calgary (36-15-7), which entered the game in first place in the Pacific Division, five points up on the Los Angeles Kings with two games in hand. The Flames are 16-2-1 in their last 19.
NOTES
AVALANCHE: Colorado captain Gabriel Landeskog is scheduled to undergo knee surgery Monday, Coach Jared Bednar announced.
There’s no timetable yet for Landeskog’s return. The Avalanche are in firm control of the top spot in the Western Conference standings and are eyeing their second straight Presidents’ Trophy, which goes to the team with the NHL’s best regular-season record.
Landeskog has a team-leading 30 goals this season. It’s the second time in his career he’s reached the 30-goal plateau.
