Constance I. Hallett

AUGUSTA – Constance I. Hallett, 93, of Augusta, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2022, at the Comfort Hospice Care Unit at Glenridge in Augusta after an extended illness.

She was born in Winthrop on March 15, 1929, the daughter of Lewis J. DeBlois and Irene (Dubreuil) DeBlois. She grew up in Augusta surrounded by her large family.

Mrs. Hallett was a graduate of Cony High School and attended the University of Maine at Augusta.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the State of Maine and in private nursing. She continued to work after retirement for several years at St. Markā€™s Home for Women.

Mrs. Hallett was a member of Toastmasters International and previously served on the Chelsea School Board.

Connie loved to bowl and was a very competitive member of her league. She also was an avid collector of Beanie Babies. She enjoyed attending family birthday and Christmas parties and particularly liked going for rides through the countryside.

She was predeceased by her parents; brothers Ralph, Richard and Joe, and one sister Jackie.

Surviving are two sons, Allen Hallett, Jr., and wife Sherrill of Chelsea, and Gary Snowman of Smyrna; three daughters, Patricia Hinton of Las Vegas, Nev., Jeannie Burke and husband Lou of Clermont, Fla., and Angela Allen and husband Chris of Oakland; one sister, Jeanette Hooser of Tucson, Ariz.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

We would like to express a special thank you to her Hospice nurses Shula, Carrie and Jean and the nurses in the Comfort Care Unit of Glenridge for their excellent care.

At this time there will be no visitation or memorial services. A celebration of life will be announced in the summer.
