Androscoggin Home Healthcare + Hospice is opening its Hospice Thrift Store at 165 Capitol St. in Augusta.
This new location joins its Auburn location, at 245 Center St., as the organization’s second hospice thrift store, according to a news release from the nonprofit.
The store seeks volunteers for all and positions. Those interested can email Sharon Blake at [email protected] or call 207-330-9390.
All proceeds from Androscoggin’s stores support patient care in the community.
Last year, Androscoggin provided more than $1.6 million in free care to uninsured and underinsured patients and families.
The Augusta Hospice Thrift Store is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and donations are being accepted during store hours.
With the exception of one employee, the store is entirely run by a team of volunteers who process donations, set up displays, and wait on customers.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
