Greg Boardman will perform at the Oasis of Music beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, at Trinity Church in Lewiston.

Boardman will be leading in folk hymns, from both the black enslaved and white Christian church traditions that speak to the events recounted in the Gospels leading to the Passion. These are songs, such as “Ride on King Jesus,” and “You’ve Got to Walk That Lonesome Valley,” that are meant to be sung together, in call and response fashion. Attendees will be urged to sing along.

The Oasis of Music is a weekly music series of performances of roughly thirty minutes, running from September to May. Admission is free, with donations accepted. The musical genres vary greatly, in largely, but not exclusively, acoustic formats. COVID restrictions of optional mask-wearing and social distancing are observed. Trinity Church is located at 247 Bates St., Lewiston. For more information, call 207-344-3106.
