GARDINER — In celebration of Earth Day and Day of Caring, several civic groups plan to pick up trash in the Cobbossee Watershed from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 23.
The groups include Upstream, Gardiner Main Street, Gardiner Boys and Girls Club, Gardiner Rotary, Friends of Cobbossee Watershed, Kennebec Valley Trout Unlimited and Kennebec Land Trust, according to a news release from Gardiner Main Street.
To celebrate the work, Everett J. Prescott Inc. plans to host a free barbecue from 11 a.m. to noon at the Gardiner Boys & Girls Club, 14 Pray St.
Groups are encouraged to register in advance.
Gardiner Main Street members will connect each group to an area ready for clean up.
People also can arrive at the Boys & Girls Club and be ready to help out.
