KITTERY — Nick Florek pitched a five-inning no-hitter and drove in two runs in Game 1 as the Maranacook baseball team opened its season with a pair of wins against Traip (0-3), winning 4-0 and 11-1.

Florek struck out eight and walked one.

In Game 2, winning pitcher Jake McLaughin had a single, a double and four RBIs, while Tyler Hreben homered and drove in three runs.

Traip got its run on a double by Jack Downs and a single by Brady Parsons.

 

LAWRENCE 14, WINSLOW 2: Andrew Trombley had three hits, including a double, as well as two RBIs to lead the Bulldogs to a win over the Black Raiders in Winslow.

Parker Higgins, Nate Grard and Logan Carpenter each cracked doubles for Lawrence (1-0).

Caden Fitzpatrick had three hits for Winslow (0-1), including a double.

 

CONY 6, OCEANSIDE 2: Kam Douin singled home the tying and go-ahead runs in the fifth inning and Braydon Barbeau pitched four scoreless innings in relief as the Rams won a season opener against the Mariners in Rockland.

Cony goes to 1-0.

Jacob Watkinson led Oceanside (0-1) with three hits and an RBI.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 9, WATERVILLE 4: Ben Foster had two hits for the Purple Panthers in a loss to the Panthers in Waldoboro.

Waterville falls to 0-1, while Medomak Valley is 1-0.

 

MADISON 7, WINTHROP 6: After blowing a 4-3 lead in the top of the seventh, the Bulldogs scored three runs of their own in the bottom half to come away with the MVC victory in Madison.

Hunter Tewksbury had two hits, including a triple, and scored twice for the Bulldogs, while Austin Hay had a single and scored twice. Jackson Theriault started and struck out eight in five innings, while Dominic Mercier earned the win on the mound.

Logan Baird and Andrew Fay each doubled for the Ramblers, and Fay scored three runs.

 

SOFTBALL

 

MADISON 9, OAK HILL 0: Brooke McKenney tossed a three-hit shutout while striking out 16 batters as the Bulldogs cruised to a Mountain Valley Conference win in Madison.

Lilly Levesque smacked a solo home run for Madison (1-0).

Amara Denis had a hit for Oak Hill (0-1).

 

MESSALONSKEE 3, BREWER 2: Jordan Lambert had three hits to lead the Eagles to a win over the Witches in Brewer.

Morgan Wills cracked a double and earned the win in the circle for Messalonskee (1-0).

Brewer falls to 0-1.

LAWRENCE 8, ERSKINE ACADEMY 3: Kaylyn Bourque scored four goals to lead the Bulldogs to a win over the Eagles in South China.

Holly Bolduc added three goals for Lawrence (1-0). Emily Hersey made 11 saves.

Sarah Praul led Erskine (0-2) with three goals. Emma Henderson had six saves.
