RANDOLPH – Shirley E. Baty, 78, passed away April 16, 2022, at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. She was born July 26, 1943, a daughter of Charles and Kathleen (Goodwin) Cross.Shirley grew up in Dresden and attended local schools. In 1960 she married David Baty and became a mother to Rhonda and David. As a military family, they lived in many different places including Cuba and Virginia.Shirley was a true homemaker and enjoyed knitting, crafting, and was an avid seamstress, sewing clothing and quilts for her family. Throughout the years, she and David raised several Dachshunds, her most recent dog being Lilly. She was predeceased by her much beloved husband of 42 years, David Baty; and her brother Wayne Cross.She is survived by her children, Rhonda Turcotte and her husband, Jason of Chelsea, and David Baty and his wife Jean of Arizona; grandchildren, Erica Acord of Chelsea, and Jessica Turcotte and Joshua Turcotte of Augusta; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews in both Maine and the Carolinas.Services for Shirley are private.
