The Novel Jazz Septet plan to celebrate Duke Ellington’s birthday, International Dance Day and International Jazz Day with a concert set for 7 p.m. Friday, April 29, at the Frontier Café, 14 Maine St. Mill 3 Fort Andross, in Brunswick.

The Maine-based group is now in their 18th year of concerts around Maine and New England. Their mission is to share the music and stories of the iconic Duke Ellington and his equally iconic musical collaborator, Billy Strayhorn, who, together, wrote some 3000 compositions over their musical careers.

Tickets are limited to 75 people (or 37.5 couples). All patrons will be required to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test in addition to masking upon entry.

Tickets cost $18 in advance or $20the day of show.
