WATERVILLE — Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce welcomes Katelyn Hood as its new customer service specialist. Hood has been named to the position, replacing Patricia Michaud, who retired following nearly eight years with the chamber, according to a news release from the chamber.
Hood had served in various accounting, payroll, banking and human resources positions in the area. Her most recent position was payroll administrator for Kleinschmidt, where she was responsible for payroll functions and tax reporting.
A graduate of Nokomis Regional High school, she graduated from Kennebec Valley Community College with an associate degree in business administration, with a concentration in accounting.
Included in her new duties as customer service specialist will be oversight of new member orientation and new member acquisition, website maintenance, member invoicing and customer service assistance. She will also participate in many of the chamber’s signature events.
Mid-Maine Chamber President and CEO Kimberly Lindlof said of Hood, “I look forward to having Katelyn on our team. She has a wealth of experience that will prove beneficial in this role. Her understanding of financial programs and reporting, as well as her positive attitude will be welcomed by our board and committee members, as well as our membership in general. Hood resides in Pittsfield with her son, Finn.
Mainebiz forum to address leading through change
The 12th annual Mainebiz Women’s Leadership Forum is set for 7:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 5, at the Holiday Inn By The Bay, 88 Spring St., in Portland. This year’s topic will address how we can all become better leaders through change, according to a news release from Mainebiz.
The workplace has changed dramatically over the last two years, and leaders have had to adjust and grow. In this session, the topic of leading through change: ways to sustain a strong culture, keep employees engaged and motivated, evolve your own leadership styles, adapt your communications, and keep operations aligned, will be discussed.
The panel of business leaders will include: Taja Dockendorf, founder and creative strategist, Pulp & Wire; Rebecca Hatfield, senior vice president of Real Estate, Avesta Housing; Jo-Ann Lantz, president and CEO of Geiger; Margo Walsh, founder and owner of MaineWorks; and Briana Warner, CEO of Atlantic Sea Farms. The panel will be moderated by Christina McAnuff, executive director of the Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute.

MaineHousing names new chief counsel
AUGUSTA – Ashley Janotta has been promoted to the position of chief counsel at MaineHousing, the housing finance authority for Maine. She most recently worked as a staff attorney for the Augusta-based agency.
According to a news release from the agency, Janotta is a graduate of the University of Maine School of Law in Portland, and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Maine.
In her new role Janotta will head MaineHousing’s legal team and is responsible for the agency’s legal affairs, providing counsel to the board of commissioners, the director, senior management and MaineHousing staff.
Janotta takes over in a leadership role following the retirement of Linda Uhl, who served as chief counsel at MaineHousing for 25 years.

Camden National Bank recognized by Forbes
Camden National Bank has been named to Forbes magazine’s list of “World’s Best Banks” for the second consecutive year, ranking in the top 15 of 75 U.S. banks being recognized. As of March, there were 4,839 commercial banks and savings institutions insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, according to a news release from the bank.
The recognition results from a collaboration between Forbes and Statista to conduct a consumer survey that evaluated feedback from 45,000 banking customers across 27 countries. All offering a checking and/or savings account were considered, with questions spanning topics including trust, terms and conditions, customer services, digital services, and financial advice.

Brian Bernatchez, makes Forbes list
