Frank P. Dickey

PORTLAND – Frank P. Dickey, 93, of Portland, passed away unexpectedly on Friday April 22, 2022. He was born on March 9, 1929 in North Anson, son of Frank and Evelyn (Peters) Dickey. He was the oldest of 12 children.

On July 3, 1949 he married his loving wife Mabel Erickson. Frank and Mabel had four children. Frank started work at a young age for Madison Paper Company in Madison, retiring after 45 years of service. Frank loved to go out to eat, ride around the countryside, and just being out and about with friends and family.

Frank will be dearly missed by his daughters, Deborah Jackson and her son Joseph, and her daughter Lindsey Jackson Gagne and husband Joshua of Skowhegan; Pamela Dickey Tifft of Scarborough and her daughter Anika and husband Hildeberto Pareja Gomez of Buxton; Ellen Mitchell and husband Brian of Skowhegan and their sons Joshua Mitchell and wife Emily of Skowhegan, and Jeremy Mitchell and wife Megan of Tuftonboro, N.H.; his son Lonnie Dickey and wife Jody of Oakland and their children Megan Miklos and husband Michael of Clinton, Garrett Dickey and wife Valeria of San Juan, Costa Rica; his great-grandchildren Tristen, Jonathan, Carter, Colbey, Carson, Cade, Macyn, Maya, Ryker, Dylan, Tanner, Brendon, Nevaeh, Damian, Joshua Jr., Joslin, Nayelie, Payton, Zayanna. Frank is survived by three brothers, Larry, Phillip, and Kendall Dickey and wife Jean; three sisters, Francis “Teddy” Merrill, Kathleen and husband David Steuber, and Donna and husband Roland White.

Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his first wife, Mabel, who passed away in February of 1988 after 48 years of marriage; his second wife Rose Marie Spiller; his five siblings, Mike, Gene, Richard, Patricia and Tina; sons-in-law Joseph Jackson and Nicol Tifft. Last but not least he will be missed by his lap dog Tessa.

A spring burial will be held at Gracelawn Memorial Park, on Friday, May 6 at 1 p.m.
