NORWAY — The Western Maine Art Group is set to present a solo exhibition of works — “Observation, Perception, Imagination!” — by Center Lovell artist Sandra Josephine Bell at the Matolcsy Art Center, 480 Main St.

The show opens Friday, May 6, and continuing through the end of the month, according to a news release from the art group.

The group’s Main Street Gallery will present artwork from member artists on the theme “Reflections” at 426 Main St.

Opening receptions for each exhibit will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. May 6 at each location.

Bell is known primarily for her studio and en plein air oil paintings of Kezar Lake and the villages and countryside of Western Maine. She describes her representational painting style as “mood realism.”

The exhibition will expand beyond the traditional and will introduce a comprehensive collection of new works in a variety of styles, subject matter and presentation.
