At a time of deep partisan divide, legislation with wide support from both sides of the aisle is something to celebrate. We want to thank Sen. Susan Collins for her support for the Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act of 2021, which was recently signed into law.
Thanks to Collins’ support, the secretive process of arbitration, which robs survivors of their right to speak out about sexual assault or harassment faced at work, will no longer be the only option for survivors of sexual harassment and assault. This is a great win for Maine workers. There is more to be done and we look forward to continuing to work with Collins and her colleagues to make all workplaces safe and equitable.
