Katherine Ann (Young) Emery

NORRIDGEWOCK – Katherine Ann (Young) Emery went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 21, 2022 due to mental illness. Katherine was born on July 23, 1962, the daughter of Marvin and Dianne (Rogers) Young of Norridgewock.Katherine attended Skowhegan area schools and achieved her associates degree from KVCC. She spent many of her summers at Gifford’s ice cream as a manager, which she absolutely adored and made many friendships during those 10 years. Katherine spent her last years as an Ed Tech at Madison Area High School, where she had a special bond with the many children she worked with. Many have come to know Christ through her commitment to sharing His word. Katherine touched many lives. Katherine enjoyed spending time with her family and her favorite thing to do was kayak. Kayaking is where she found the most peace. She also enjoyed doing the Pine Tree Paddle in memory of her mother. Katherine was also blessed with a special cousin, Sharon Lapierre, best friend, Victoria Cogan, lifelong friends, Beth Belleguard and Sue Eanes, along with her many nieces and nephews with whom she shared a unique and special bond. Katherine is survived by her four children, Melissa Emery, Daniel Emery, Matthew Emery and Kira Templin; her father, Marvin Young; grandchildren Corey Emery, Amanda (Sean) and Jackson Danforth; great-grandchildren, Aurora and Carter; sisters and brothers, Tammy Young (Tim), Lori French (Ricky), Angie Young, Mark Young (Cindy), John Bickford (Theresa) and Kimberly Petit (Michael). Katherine was predeceased by her mother, Dianne; and sister, Jeanette.Katherine’s life mission was to bring as many people she could to Christ. She planted many seeds along her journey and helped so many people through hardships and struggles through prayer, scripture and her love and compassion.Katherines’ service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at the Norridgewock Seventh Day Adventist Church located at 30 Upper Main Street.
