If you are thinking Maine should buy out CMP it would be a big mistake. Have you ever seen the state run anything the way a business should be? Why not put more people on the PUC board and be more aggressive about keeping them more accountable. Let CMP complete the big transmission line but Maine gets half the power.

Changing everyone over to electric vehicles sounds good but we have a lot of hurdles before doing that. Electric vehicles don’t pay gas taxes that maintain our roads; that will fall on the remaining cars and large trucks. Do we know how to put out electric vehicle fires? Will we destroy the earth getting materials to make batteries with?

Until we can efficiently figure out how to store electricity made by the sun and wind we will never meet our goals. I personally like hydro power; it can be made 24 hours a day and helps with flooding.

Stopping companies not owned in Maine from taking truckload after truckload of our best drinking water and depleting our underwater aquifers could really be a huge mistake. Can we grow crops with sea water? We need to adapt to things we can’t change!

If our politicians don’t learn how to get along and get things done our grandchildren are in real trouble.
