FAIRFIELD — A Fairfield man is scheduled to appear in court in July after driving at a high rate of speed in a residential area Friday night, while allegedly under the influence, and rolling his vehicle over.
Dylan Brown, 23, was arrested and charged with OUI after the crash, which occurred at the intersection of Elm and High streets and initially was reported as a traffic complaint, according to Patrolman Casey Dugas of the Fairfield police.
Dugas said Saturday that Officer Nolan Allen was looking for the vehicle, a 2003 Ford Focus, which was traveling at a high rate of speed around 1o p.m. on High Street and was attempting to turn left onto Elm Street when the crash occurred.
Allen was on High Street and turning into the parking lot of Fairfield Primary School when he heard the crash and rollover, according to Dugas. The speed limit in the area is 25 mph, he said.
Brown suffered minor injuries and was not taken to a hospital, Dugas said. He was bailed from the Fairfield Police Department on $1,000 unsecured bail and is scheduled to appear in Skowhegan District Court on July 13, according to Dugas.
