The Hills to Sea Trail Coalition seeks a volunteer to assist with maintaining its website, as well as volunteers to steward sections of the 47-mile Hills to Sea Trail.
The steward positions involve walking a section of trail four times a year between April and October, clearing light debris and identifying areas needing more attention.
A person to freshen paint blazes also is needed.
The trail extends from Belfast to Unity; sections range from one half-mile to more than four miles.
A handsaw and/or loppers are the only tools needed, and stewards receive a one-hour orientation. Large limbs and downed trees are addressed by trail crew members with chainsaws.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
