A 4-year-old boy from Palmyra died this week in South Carolina, days after he was pulled from a swimming pool, according to authorities.
The boy died at the Medical University of South Carolina on Monday, according to the Horry County coroner’s office in South Carolina.
He was recovered from a swimming pool at a resort in North Myrtle Beach on April 21 and taken to the hospital, the coroner’s office said.
The Press Herald is choosing not to name the child at this time.
Tamara Willard, Horry County’s chief deputy coroner, confirmed in an email Thursday that the boy was visiting South Carolina with his family from Palmyra.
