Richard Grant Jamison Jr.

RANDOLPH – Richard Grant Jamison Jr., 80, of Randolph, suddenly passed away at Maine Medical Center in Portland on Friday May 13, 2022. Richard was born in Gardiner on Jan. 23, 1942, the son of Richard G. Jamison Sr. and Gladys E. Jamison.

Richard attended the Chelsea School system and graduated from Gardiner Area High School. Richard married his high school sweetheart, Linda Marlene Lewis, shortly after graduation and they spent 59 wonderful years together before he passed away.

Richard was employed as a papermaker/mixerman for Statler Tissue in Augusta for 27 years. After Statler Tissue shut down, Richard worked at the craft store, Michael’s, for 21 years as an assistant manager. Richard was definitely a “people person” who enjoyed chatting with others.

In later years, Richard and Linda enjoyed traveling to spend time with various members of their family. Family was important to Richard, and he attended any event that he could to support his family. He also loved to fish and tinker with electronics.

Richard was predeceased by his father and mother of Chelsea; and a grandson, Evan G. Jamison.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Jamison of Randolph; his son Gregory G. Jamison and his daughter-in-law Tracy A. Jamison of Scarborough, his daughter Nathalie L. Moran and his son-in-law David C. Moran of Randolph; his sister Laureline Yeaton and brother-in-law Lawrence Yeaton of Columbia, Md., his brother Thomas Jamison and sister-in-law Nancy Jamison of Whitefield; his grandson Kyle G. Jamison and wife Jill T. Jamison of Old Orchard Beach, his grandson Ryan C. Jamison of Austin, Texas, his grandson Michael K. Jamison of Portland, his grandson Andrew R. Moran of Randolph, and his grandson Chandler A. Moran of Randolph. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Visiting hours will be celebrated on Sunday, May 29, from 1 – 2 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m., at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Annex Cemetery, Windsor Street (Rt. 226), in Randolph.
