Brett Palmer of West Gardiner, a senior at Gardiner Area High School, is a 2022 National Merit Scholar semi-finalist.

He has advanced to the final round of the 2022 U.S. Presidential Scholars competition, according to a news release from the school.

Palmer is one of six seniors in Maine to achieve this level and one of 620 seniors nationally.
