Linda Bisson MacDonald

WINTHROP – Linda Bisson MacDonald, 77, passed away on May 14, 2022, from lung cancer.

She was born in Augusta on August 16, 1944, to Lawrence and Eleanor (Riley) Bisson. Linda graduated from Winthrop High School in 1962.

Linda spent over 20 years in Florida helping drug and alcohol patients recover from addiction and then continued her career at Health and Human Resources in Augusta, where she did both addiction and mental health counseling. She helped many souls over her long career and was a great support for many people on their road to recovery.

Linda was predeceased by her parents; and brothers Raymond and Stephen Bisson.

Linda is survived by her two sons, Erle MacDonald and wife Patty of Bend, Ore. and James MacDonald and wife Gail of Lake Mary, Fla.; two granddaughters, Maryann MacDonald of Los Angeles, Calif. and Kaley MacDonald of Charleston, S.C.; nieces Amy Bisson Lehman and husband Matt, of Lebanon Pa., Kimberly Bisson Thompson and husband Larry of Harrisburg, N.C., and Shauna Bisson of Wethersfield, Conn., nephews Mark Bisson of Brunswick and Mathew Bisson of Augusta; cousin, Natalie Leighton Weise, husband Andy and their son and caregiver to Aunt Linda, James Weise of Winthrop.

A heartfelt thank you to her wonderful caregivers Rick, Bob, Nichole, Richard, and Jim.

Services will be held at a date and time to be announced.
