Linda Louise Cirell

BINGHAM – Linda Louise Cirell, 74, passed away with her family by her side on the evening of May 18, 2022. She was born in Ohio in 1948 to Rudolph and Anne Cirell.

She had a family with Jack Hilmer and raised eight children, Maria, Jakob, Anna, Lindsey, Sarah, and James and is preceded in death by Angelina and Joseph.

After getting two undergraduate degrees (art history and education) at Kent State University in 1970, she moved to the backwoods of Maine, where she lived off grid year-round from 1976 to 2020.

She was an avid reader of history and loved singing and playing guitar with friends. She was known for her sense of humor and big smile. Passionate with strong opinions, she was not afraid to stand up and speak her mind. She spent many years working for the local school district supporting kids in education and athletics.

Though she was many things, Linda was a mother first. She loved her children deeply and was consistently present throughout their lives. She went on to be a loving and supportive grandmother to six grandchildren. Anyone blessed to know her, knew how brave and caring her spirit was. She was a one of a kind gem on this earth and she will live on in the hearts of all who continue to love and honor her. Rest In Peace Mom. We love you.

A memorial celebration for Linda’s life will be held at her Baker Street residence from 3 to 8 p.m. on Monday May 23.
