OAKLAND – Elizabeth M. (Crowell) Clifford, 83, passed away May 27, 2022 at Glenridge Nursing Home in Augusta. She was born Jan. 22, 1939, in Waterville, the daughter of Leon H. and Dessiemond V. (Wass) Crowell.She graduated from Kents Hill School in Readfield in 1957. She was employed at various jobs during her career including running Clifford Oil and Gas, ward clerk at Thayer Hospital and clerical worker at a medical office. She was a member of Rainbow for girls as a teenager, enjoyed horseback riding with kids and going dancing.Elizabeth is survived by her seven children, David E. Clifford of Fairfield, Bobbi Ann Coombs and husband Frank of Hampden, Michael T. Clifford and fiancée Mel of Fairfield, Deborah J. Merry of Benton, Laurie A Leighton and husband David of Oakland, Timothy D. Clifford and wife Sue of Clinton, Thomas E. Clifford and wife Linda of Benton; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, LeRoy Crowell and wife Joyce of Wisconsin.A private graveside service will be held at Brown’s Cemetery in Benton at the convenience of the family.Arrangements under the direction and care of Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service, 445 Waterville Road, Skowhegan ME 04976.In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations in Elizabeth’s memory to the Humane Society Waterville Area, 100 Webb Road, Waterville, ME 04901.
