I can’t tell you how disappointed I am in our government right now. Another school shooting! More innocent children needlessly killed!

I am deeply ashamed with the Republicans in Washington. They continue to stand in the the way of sensible gun laws.

The Second Amendment clearly states that citizens have the right to bear arms. This was ratified on Dec. 15, 1791. Think about that! In 1791 we had muskets. It took a while to load and prime this weapons. They fired one musket ball. Our forefather’s could not imagine a weapon firming 20 rounds in less than a second and a half on full automatic.

I was a Marine in a rifle company in Vietnam. I shot and killed enemy soldiers in combat. That’s something that will haunt me every day till I die. I was wounded twice, but I made it back home.

Guns are made to kill, whether it’s a deer or a person. We don’t need this type of weapon in the hands of people.

I am gun owner. I own a shotgun, rifle, and a pistol. I have no problem with people owning guns. We don’t need the type of weapon that has been used in all these needless mass killings.

The time for sensible gun laws is now. Or we can wait for the next mass killing, or the next, or the next.
