Poet Hazel Hogan of Stratton has released a book of poetry that she has been working on for years. “Traveling Through the Pages of Time” is a compilation of poems about her family, friends and pets.

Some of the volume contains poetry written years ago from her grandmother and other family members. Including an ode to Jessie, a golden/chow mix puppy which turned out to be the smartest dog she ever had.

“Little Jessie”

Little Jesse that is me, I’m as mischievous
as can be.
I get into everything just to see.
Let’s run to the window, I heard a noise.
It’s so difficult to keep my poise.
Where’s my ball, where did it go?
They always hide it so I don’t know.
OK Let’s look for my shoe.
Why do you hide things, I don’t to you?
I can’t find that so I’ll look for my bottle.
Them I’d just like to throttle.
Why do you take all my toys away?
In this matter don’t I have a say?
