The school district, which serves Oakland, China, Belgrade, Sidney and Rome, will offer free meals to children from Monday, June 27 through Friday, Aug. 12, at sites throughout the district.

Meals must be consumed on site.

Lunch will be available from 11:15 to 11:45 a.m. at the following sites:

• China Middle School, 773 Lakeview Drive, South China;

• James Bean School, 2896 Middle Road, Sidney;

• Belgrade Recreation Center for All Seasons, 1 Center Drive, Belgrade Lakes; and

• Rome Community Center, 8 Mercer Road, Rome.

The Oakland Boat Landing, 10 Belgrade Ave. in Oakland, will have meals available from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Messalonskee Middle School, 33 School Bus Drive in Oakland, will offer breakfast from 7 to 8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

The goal is to feed as many children as possible during the summer break to help bridge the gap until school opens in the fall.

Summer Meals for Kids is available to all children 18 and younger without charge. Meals will be available Monday through Friday at the sites. No meals will be served on July 4 in observance of the holiday.
