Lauristine M. Tondreau

AUGUSTA – Lauristine M. Tondreau, of Augusta, Maine, passed away on June 16, 2022, after a brief illness due to natural causes.Lauristine, worked with her husband in the family business Tondreau and Sons Gravel for over 30 years. She worked several occupations in her life. She sold Avon, worked at the Holiday Inn, Gardiner Shoe Shop, and the Hathaway Shirt Company. Her first love was being a homemaker and raising her family. She loved to cook for her family and welcomed anyone who wanted to join the family table. She enjoyed going to the Maine fairs to watch harness racing, especially when it was a family owned horse; drove motorcycle and took weekend rides all over Maine with her husband and family friends; took extra pride in her flower gardens and loved to show them off to anyone who visited. She had many talents; oil painting and hand drawings, sang, played harmonica, sewed, baked and decorated anniversary, wedding and birthday cakes. She was president of the North Augusta Trailblazers from 1981-1982, and also served as treasurer for a year. She helped organize and cooked at benefit suppers the club sponsored. She was a member of the Silver Spur Riding Club, competed in the horse shows, and participated in the weekend variety shows. Lauristine was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Robert A. Tondreau, her parents, Lauria and Clairina Grenier, her son Kenneth Tondreau.She is survived by son Keith, his wife Jeanne, and their family, Katie Lynn, Kaydence, Devin, RebekahSue and Callie Jeanne; daughter Julie her husband Cliff and their family Matthew and Taylor; daughter Tina her husband Howard and their family Greg, Caitlin and Rose.Per her wishes there will be no service or visiting hours. A graveside ceremony will be held jointly for both Lauristine and her husband Robert on Wednesday, June 29 at 2 p.m., at the niche wall at Holy Family Cemetery in Augusta.
