As a part of Kennebec Land Trust’s 2022 Lyceum, Maine Medicinal Plants: Cultural Uses, Ecology and Botany, the trust plans to offer three field workshops throughout the summer and fall.

Eric Doucette, associate professor of biology at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and past president of the Maine Josselyn Botanical Society, will lead a field-based plant identification workshop at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 28 at Camp Bearnstow, 84 Bearnstow Road in Mount Vernon.

Those who attend can learn about the plants found at Camp Bearnstow. Doucette will focus on Maine medicinal plants, common lookalikes, and books used for plant identification, according to a news release from the trust.

Space is limited; registration is required and costs $5.
