Clifford H. “Joe” Lane
MANCHESTER – Clifford H. “Joe” Lane, 83, of Manchester, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of his home on June 23, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Clifford was born on Sept. 2, 1938, and was raised in Gloucester, Mass., until he joined the Air Force in 1957 and served for four years. After leaving the service, he lived in many towns in Eastern Massachusetts including Gloucester, Saugus, and North Reading, before settling in Maine with his wife, Linda.
Clifford was a very talented welder who enjoyed many hobbies, including woodworking, golfing, being with friends and family, and skunking his opponents in cribbage. He had an incredible smile and was able to light up every room he walked into.
Clifford is survived by his loving wife, Linda. He is also survived by his son, David, his wife Darlene, and their three children, Emily, Nicholas, and Abigail; his daughter, Ethel Botta and her son, Christopher; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Kevin.
