Kathleen E. Harrington

ATHENS – Kathleen E. Harrington, born January 31, 1945 in Skowhegan, Maine, passed away at 2:00am, Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at the age of 77. Kathy married Glen (Jake) C. Harrington, Sr. on July 1, 1960 and they enjoyed 52 years together before Jake passed. Together they raised three children, Barry L. Harrington, Glen C. Harrington, Jr. and Laurie A. LaCasse. Kathy was a devoted, loving wife, mother, sister, Nanni, and friend to all who were in her life.

Kathy went to work at an early age for Norwock Shoe Factory, and then moved on to work at Dexter Shoe. She was a very dedicated employee and made some lifelong friends of her fellow co-workers. She enjoyed many activities. One of her favorites was going on long rides to no-where and finding that neat little “hole-in-the-wall” place to eat on a sunny day with her husband, Jake. She enjoyed numerous camping trips with her family and friends, as well as tap dancing classes with a great group of ladies, and most recent being a proud member of the Ruby Red Jewels. She loved spending time BBQing and hanging out by the pool with her family.

It is with much sadness that Kathy will be missed by her loving family and many friends. She is predeceased by her husband, Glen C. Harrington, Sr, her mother, Margaret Rogers and brother, Patrick Eagan. Kathy is survived by her three children, son Barry L Harrington and his wife Naomi, son Glen C. Harrington Jr., and daughter Laurie A. LaCasse and her partner, David Thibault. As well as her siblings and their spouses, Noreen LeBrun and her husband Jerome, Timothy Eagen, Gaylon Rogers and his wife Sharon, Anita Cooley and her husband Leonard and Rebecca Savage and her partner Don Leib. Kathy loved her seven grandchildren, Isaac, Alex, Joshua, Jacob, William, Glen, Zachary, and Brandon, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. All were very dear to her. The Family wishes to thank the caregivers at Tissues Boarding Home in Athens for the tender, loving care they gave Kathy. She referred to Tissues as “Home”. Mom, we love you very much and will miss you always. Give dad, Nanna and all the rest in heaven our love and hugs.

In lieu of flowers/donations, Kathy’s family would ask family members and friends to remember her with random acts of kindness. Random acts of kindness can have a ripple effect in the family and in the community. More important, these acts remind us that

love lasts forever.
