The Humane Society Waterville Area’s first Woofstock Festival is set for noon-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at the 100 Webb Road society.

This event will feature local bands, food and drinks. All ticket sales and HSWA merchandise proceeds will go toward the society, as well as 10% of the proceeds from event vendors. Free general parking will be available in the field adjacent to the society.

Rae-Ann Demos, executive director of HSWA, said “Woofstock’s First Annual Music Festival is geared to spread love, awareness, and appreciation for not only the 100-plus animals we have the privilege serving daily, but also the 6.3 million animals in shelters without homes across the country.”

A lineup of six local bands will be performing at the event: Old Souls, Tyler Healy Band, Papa Tim and the Desperate Men, Bad Daddy, River Bottom Funk, and Cryin’ Out Loud. Food vendors include Texas Backyard BBQ, Sheba’s Wicked Kitchen, Whoof-ie Pies, Cruzin’ Slice, I’d Wrap That, and The Daily Dish.

Maine Technology Group has agreed to partner with the society for this event as a sponsor and will be matching all donations during the course of this event up to $20,000.

No outside food or drink, weapons of any kind or pets will be allowed entry at this event.
