Lorraine J. (Mathieu) Piteau

AUGUSTA – Lorraine J. (Mathieu) Piteau, 78, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2022. She was the wife of the late Robert Piteau with whom she shared 57 years of marriage.

Lorraine was born in Augusta on July 27, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Omer and Jeannette Quirion. As a young girl she was known as a very kind loving caring person. She loved dancing, roller skating and she once led a parade downtown Augusta twirling a baton. She also was a huge fan of Elvis Presley whom her highlight in life was that she saw him in concert and visited Graceland which she never forgot.

During her life she met the love of her life Robert Piteau they got married and moved to Connecticut where they raised a beautiful family and made friends and memories. Lorraine moved back to Maine in 1987 and started a taxi business with her husband for 10 years, which she was very passionate about.

She will be dearly missed by her family and lots of very special friends she met throughout her life.

Lorraine is survived by her son, Michael Piteau and his wife Patricia of Simsbury, Conn., her daughters Monique Poulin and her husband Bob of Augusta, and Karen Szabo and her husband Laci of Somers, Conn.; her grandson, Michael A. Piteau and his wife Brenda of Simsbury, Conn., her granddaughter, Lauren Dungan and her husband William of Granby, Conn., her grandson, Dan Drapeau of Augusta, her grandson, Philip Szabo of Somers, Conn. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Timothy Lowe of Gardiner, Leon Hamel and Joey Drapeau both of Augusta, Parker and Penelope Piteau both of Simsbury, Conn., Lily and Alexander Dungan both of Granby, Conn.

In addition to her loving husband, Robert and her parents, Lorraine was predeceased by her son, Robert P. Piteau, II; and her grandson, Joseph R. Drapeau.

In honoring with Lorraine’s wishes there will be no visiting hours or funeral services.
