MOUNT VERNON – Brooke D. McLaughlin, 14, died unexpectedly on July 18, 2022. She was the loving daughter of Daniel B. and Rebecca A. (Heath) McLaughlin.

Brooke was born July 2, 2008, in Augusta. She was a student at Maranacook Middle School.

Brooke was a kind, loving, very thoughtful, big hearted, strong person who loved her family and friends that she had so much joy spending time.

She enjoyed campfires, music, shopping, swimming, animals, four wheeling, ice fishing, hiking, and hanging out with her friends.

In addition to her mom and dad, Brooke is survived by her sister Katelynn McLaughlin of North Windham, her niece Lillyahna McLaughlin, her grandmothers, Carolyn McLaughlin of Readfield and Judith Bourget of Augusta, her three aunts, Charlene Cohen, Karen Holt and Lisa Carter, her stepmother Sarah Ouellette, her four stepsiblings, Margaret, Abigail, Eleanor, and Logan, and her stepfather Justin Sinclair. She is also survived by her lifelong family friends, Joshua and Kim Robertson and their son Trevor, her loyal cat and bearded dragon, as well as many loving cousins, extended family and friends.

She was predeceased by her grandfather Paul McLaughlin.

Brooke’s visiting hours will be in the Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, One Church St., Augusta on Sunday, July 24, 2022, from 12 p.m., noon – 3 p.m. There will be a prayer service following visitation at 3 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
