Deertrees Theatre plans to present the musical “The Marvelous Wonderettes ‘58” at 7 p.m. Friday through Sunday, Sept. 2-4, at 156 Deertrees Road in Harrison.
The work is created by Roger Bean, and the production is directed by Gail Phaneuf.
“The Marvelous Wonderettes ‘58” takes the audience to the 1958 Springfield High School prom, where they meet The Wonderettes — four girls (in perfect harmony) with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts. As we learn about their lives and loves, the girls perform classic ’50s songs including “Lollipop,” “Dream Lover,” “Stupid Cupid,” “Lipstick on Your Collar,” “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me,” and other classic hits.
Tickets cost $26. All ticket prices include a $2 Heritage Fee that supports the ongoing restoration and improvements of the Deertrees Theatre. For more information, visit deertrees-theatre.org, email [email protected], call 207-583-6747 or follow Deertrees Theatre on Facebook and Instagram.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
