Karen Kay Gaboury

READFIELD – Karen Kay Gaboury, 72, passed away on July 23, 2022 in her home surrounded by loved ones Al Crocker, Patsy Hatch, Josh, Ashley and Kaden Neptune, personal nurse Dorothy St. Hilaire, and her faithful loving dog, Arthur.

She was born in Huntington Beach, Calif. on April 23, 1950 and grew up in Medford, Ore. and moved to Readfield with her husband, Arthur Gaboury in the ’80s.

Karen was a force to be reckoned with and lived life on her own terms.

We all admired her greatly for her strength as she fought a courageous battle with cancer until the very end. Less than a month ago, she was camping and remodeling her home that she shared with Al Crocker. She enjoyed being with family and friends, going to the races, traveling, and shopping! She will be missed by many of her friends (too many to list) and family.

She was proceeded in death by her parents L.K. Jones and Zermalea Alexander Hughes; and her husband, Arthur Gaboury.

She is survived by her brothers and a sister, Robert Tinsley (Laurna), Gregory Jones (Shelly), Douglas Jones, Denise Beshah (Tim) and David White (Amy); her son, Jon Rains (Heather); her stepchildren Scott, Tammy (Kurk), Jeff, Jason (Karen); and many grandchildren; nieces and cousins.

A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, August 2 at 2 p.m. at Maine Veterans Cemetery Mt. Vernon Rd. Augusta.

Arrangements are under the care of Funeral alternatives, 82 Western Ave., Augusta, ME 04330
