SKOWHEGAN – Gerald Anthony Willie Cyr, 78, passed away on July 21, 2022 at Redington Fairview Hospital.

Gerald was born on July 14, 1944 to Willie and Delvina (Laney) Cyr in Skowhegan. He attended and graduated from Skowhegan High School in 1962. In 1963 he married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Fitzgerald. He spent most of his working life being a tool and die maker in Wilton N.H.

When Gerald wasn’t working you could find him at his camp in Jackman where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling or in his garden in Skowhegan. He was also a member of Abenaki Snowmobile Club, Skowhegan Elks Club, and N.R.A Club.

Gerald was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Dora Danforth; his daughter, Cheryl Ann Cyr, and his daughter, Brenda Lee (Cyr) Goodwin.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, of 59 years of Norridgewock; his son, Michael Cyr and wife, Suzanne of Caanan; his grandsons Christopher Claar of Maine, Isaiah Cyr of Madison, and Tyler Cyr of Madison; his aunt, June Laney of Skowhegan; his cousins Steve and wife, Linda Laney of Skowhegan, Tim and wife, Sue Laney of Dixfield, Jim and wife, Cindy Laney of Norridgewock, Bobby Laney of Skowhegan, and Michael Laney of Skowhegan.

A celebration of life will be held July 31 at the Skowhegan Elks Club from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. A burial with be held at Calvary Cemetery in Skowhegan at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart and Edward Funeral Home, http://www.SmartandEdwardsFH.com
