Virginia A. Callahan

KENNEBUNK – Virginia A. Callahan of Kennebunk, Maine, formerly of Augusta, Maine, passed on Dec. 31, 2021.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts on July 28, 1931, to Alice and Patrick Kelleher, Virginia entered the nursing field and met Dr. Robert Callahan, marrying in 1956. They had four children, Deborah, Brian, Peter and Robert, residing much of their lives in Augusta, Maine.

Virginia was an avid reader, being a member of the Jane Austin Society, and a patron of the Kennebunk Free Library. She was a lifelong supporter of Doctors Without Borders.

Virginia was predeceased by her husband in 2005, and she is remembered by her daughter Deborah Callahan Poulin and her husband Steven H. Poulin, of Manchester, Maine, and Virginiaā€™s only grandchild, Nolan I. R. Poulin and his wife McKayla Dunfey, of Bellingham, Washington; son Brian Callahan of Andover, Massachusetts; son Peter Callahan of Lowell, Massachusetts; and son Robert Callahan of Saco, Maine.
