Lewis Baker

BINGHAM – Lewis Baker, 88, of Bingham passed away on Aug. 2, 2022, in the same house in which he was born. Lewis was born on Sept. 28, 1933, the son of Milton Baker and Ethel Hunnewell Baker in Bingham, Maine.

Lewis was a wonderful and beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He attended and graduated from Bingham schools. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed as a bus driver for 17 years during which he was fondly known for his favorite red hat and singing to the school children. For years, Lewis enjoyed square dancing and part-time square dance calling.

Lewis is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, four months, Pauline Baker of Bingham, his two sons, Jordan D.Baker of Bingham, Tunkey Baker of Reno, Nev., five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be held at the First Congregational Church in Bingham on Friday, Aug. 19, 2022, at 10 a.m., followed by a burial at Robinson Memorial Cemetery. All are invited to an open house at the Baker home at 6 Bates St., Bingham, directly following the burial.
