
SOMERVILLE — Pumpkin Vine Family Farm plans to offer a full moon night, a Lunar Star Party, to experience the wonders of the universe in this extremely special offering on Saturday, Aug. 13, at at 217 Hewett Road. The evening will start with the music of the spheres, the folk trio Stargazing will perform on fiddle, mandolin and guitar at 7 p.m. on the Hay Wagon stage.
A guided tour through space is scheduled for 9-11 p.m. with astronomer Rebecca Spitz and her state-of-the-art observational telescope, according to a news release from the farm.
This is a two-part event, so visitors can enjoy one or both of the offerings.
Admission is by donation. Reservations are only required for the astronomy portion because of limited space, the concert has room for all.
