Walter Elwood Moody Sr.

ANSON – Walter Elwood Moody Sr., 70, passed away peacefully at his home in Anson on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022.

Walter was born on July 4, 1952, in Waterville, Maine, to the late Norman L. Moody Sr and Eleanor Welch. He owned his own demolition company for 28 years doing large jobs throughout the State of Maine. At the age of 48, he ran for selectman in the town of Clinton.

He is survived by his children, Walter Moody Jr. of North Carolina, Kimberly Moody of Colorado, and two stepchildren, Leo St. Peter of Waterville and Lynne Mosher of Smithfield. He is also survived by his sisters, Tami Clark of Rome, and Irmalene Holt of Skowhegan, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Norman L. Moody, Sr. and Eleanor Welch, his brother Norman L. Moody, Jr, and his sister Eleanor McAfee.

A special thank you to Walter’s best friend, Andrew Seamon, and also to Myra Vinton for providing excellent care and being by Walter’s side.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 27, at 11 a.m. at Southside Cemetery, Willow Street, Skowhegan, at the Moody plot. Reverend Mark Tanner will be officiating.
