Orlene V. Beane

BINGHAM – Orlene V. Beane, 91, of Bingham, passed away on Aug. 15, 2022 at Redington Fairview General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Bingham, on June 25, 1931, a daughter of Oscar and Erma (Clark) Hutchins. She was educated in the local schools and graduated from Valley High School, class of 1949.

Orlene met and later married Alton Beane and together they raised five children.

Orlene was known as the “Queen of the Kennebec”, having many articles published in the newspaper about her great ability to slay the fish.

She spent her days as a cook working in various kitchens around the Bingham area. In 1980 she had a pizza kitchen with her sister in the middle of town. She was also known for her famous donuts and if you were lucky enough to ever have one you were truly blessed.

She was predeceased by her mother, Erma, her father, Oscar; her brothers Charles and Steven, sister, Lucille; as well as her son, Ryan and daughter, Janice; and a granddaughter, Valinda.

Orlene is survived by her children Bruce and his wife, Evelyn, Karen and her partner, Mike, Lurie and her partner, John.

She’s also survived by her sisters-in-law Juanita, Raejean and Donna; special nieces Gail and Ellen, along with her other nieces and nephews; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Sept. 3 at 4 p.m. in Robinson Memorial Cemetery, Pastor Val Vigue officiating.
