Harold James Forsythe

BINGHAM – Harold James Forsythe, 70, of Bingham passed away on Aug. 17, 2022, at Redington Fairview Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Harold was born in Skowhegan on April 27, 1952, the only son of Janet E. Doe Forsythe/Robinson and Gerald T. Forsythe. He was educated in the local schools and graduated from Valley High School, class of 1970.

Harold met and later married Jennelle Walker and together they raised three children.

Harold started his career at Harry Melcher Logging and spent many years in the woods industry. He went on to work at Sappi North America (formerly Scott Paper then SD Warren) as a operator where he retired in 2017, after four decades with the company. He then spent his days with his family.

Harold, affectionately know as “Pa”, was a sassy, stubborn, but loving character. He loved the outdoors, riding the back roads, hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. He enjoyed spending time with his family whom he loved very much, he could usually be found at the family camp at Pleasant Pond in Caratunk, his first visit to camp was at 6 weeks old, where he then spent 69 summers. When he was younger he enjoyed drag racing and loved fast cars and boats.

He is predeceased by his parents, his step father Maynard Robinson, his sister Caryl Hunnewell, and his step brother Daniel Robinson.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Jennelle of Bingham, their children Jodie Lynn Plourd and her husband Keith, Jerrod James Forsythe and Justin Gerald Forsythe. His grandchildren Cameron James Johnson, Landon James Forsythe, Jordyn Brenna Plourd, Peyton Reid Plourd, and Ethan Michael Plourd.

His step brothers, Mark Robinson, Seth Robinson, and Luke Robinson as well as many special nieces and nephews and all his beloved pets.
