Michelle M. Stewart

SKOWHEGAN – Michelle M. Stewart, 49, of Skowhegan passed away on Sunday Aug. 14, 2022, suffering a cardiac arrest in her sleep which resulted in severe neurological damage. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by her lose. She was a shining star that twinkled out too soon.

Michelle was born on Feb. 4, 1973, to Wanda (Price) Quimby and Ricky Stewart in Skowhegan. She went to school in Madison and graduated 1991. Michelle lived and worked various places throughout her life. She returned to Skowhegan and settled in at Skowhegan Savings bank where she worked as a customer service representative for several years. Michelle then had an opportunity to hang up the work gig and be at home where she could tend to her animals, plants, and gardens. Michelle was a member of the Skowhegan-Madison Elks Lodge No. 2531 where she was a former Lodge Activities Chair and Elk of the Month.

Michelle’s whit and humor were legendary. Anyone who knew her, knew that when she was around, they would be in for some entertainment. There was not another person who could light up the room quite like Michelle. If there was a party, she was all over it. If there wasn’t one, she was making her own (even if was just with Dale and the animals). There always seemed to be a never-ending eagerness to read Michelle’s latest Facebook or Snapchat post.

Michelle loved music, flamingos, the NE Patriots, the Red Sox, the Bruins, and NASCAR. Most of all she loved life and everyone in it and will be sadly missed.

Michelle was predeceased in death by her maternal grandparents, Evelyn and Henry Price, paternal grandparents, Lilian and Cyrus Stewart, uncles, Dana and Darrel Stewart and stepbrother Wendell Taylor.

She is survived by longtime partner and best friend, Dale Humphrey, stepsons Tyler and Gage Humphrey, her mother Wanda Quimby and stepfather Alston, stepsister Mary Quimby Edwards, stepbrother Alston B. Quimby III, her father Ricky Stewart and stepmother Margaret, stepsister/stepbrother Bobbie Jo and Brady Price and their children Jake and Kally as well as her extended family and countless friends.

Graveside services will be held on Sept. 17, 2022, at 12 p.m., at the East Skowhegan Cemetery, Oak Pond Road, Skowhegan followed by a celebration of life at the Skowhegan-Madison Elks Lodge No. 2531 , 21 Silver Street, Skowhegan. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart and Edwards Funeral Home. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at http://www.SmartandEdwardsFH.com for the Stewart family.
