AUBURN — KK Daggett and Elisa Mezzoli each scored a pair of goals as Mt. Blue opened the season with a 6-0 KVAC victory over Edward Little in girls soccer action Thursday.
Vivian Cormier and Emma Dunn each contributed a goal in the second half for the Cougars (1-0), who led 2-0 at halftime.
Mt. Blue keeper Caitlin Burke made four saves, while Red Eddies (0-1) goalie Izzy Jalbert collected nine.
MONMOUTH ACADEMY/WINTHROP 2, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 0: Elsa Goebel-Bain scored a pair of goals less than two minutes apart early in the second half to send the Mustangs (1-0) past the Falcons (0-1) in Monmouth.
Brooklynn Federico assisted on Goebel-Bain’s first goal, then Riley Smith provided the helper on the second goal.
June Foyt recorded six saves in net for Monmouth, while Justice Gendron turned away 36 shots for the Falcons (0-1).
BUCKFIELD 11, CARRABEC 0: Kai Trenoweth turned in a hat trick and teammates Chloe Bennett, Brittany Carrier and Annabelle Thone each scored two goals in the Bucks (1-0) overwhelming win over the Cobras (0-1) in a season opener in Buckfield.
Mya Austin and Lillian Sharples also scored and goalie Kianna Finnegan made two saves.
The Bucks outshot the Cobras 46-2 and held the advantage in corners, 4-0.
BRUNSWICK 2, OXFORD HILLS 0: Alexis Morin notched a goal and an assist, and the Dragons shut out the Vikings in Brunswick.
Freshman Molly Tefft also scored for Brunswick, which got two saves from Sophia Morin. Oxford Hills keeper Madeline Herrick made 19 stops.

EDWARD LITTLE 4, MT. BLUE 0: Mohamed Adow punched in three goals and Cassidy Campbell added one in the Red Eddies’ (1-0) victory over the Cougars (0-1) in Farmington.
Edward Little goalie Richie Romano made three saves while Mt. Blue netminder James Stinson notched nine.
LISBON 5, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN/DIRIGO 0: Bryce Poulin scored two goals as the Greyhounds shut out Spruce Mountain/Dirigo in the season opener for both teams in Jay.
Danny Levesque had a goal and an assist for Lisbon, while teammates Nick Powell and Liam Holland also scored. Keeper Levi Tibbetts made four saves.
Nate Holland stopped nine shots for Spruce Mountain/Dirigo.
FIELD HOCKEY
OXFORD HILLS 3, EDWARD LITTLE 0: Sierra Carson, Carlee-Mae Cash and Paige Temple each scored goals in the Vikings’ (1-0) victory over the Red Eddies in South Paris.
Oxford Hills goalie Gabby Wright made three saves. Kasey Smith stopped nine shots for Edward Little.
