ROME – Austin Zachary Hardy, 23, passed away unexpectedly in the early hours of Aug. 30, 2022.

He was born Feb. 2, 1999 in Farmington, the son of Eric Fitch and Melissa Karkos. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cars, motorcycles, shooting, weightlifting and loved nature.

Austin is survived by his mother, Melissa Karkos of Rome, stepfather, Jon Karkos of Farmington, father, Eric Fitch of Old Orchard Beach, stepmother, Jodie Desjardins of Old Orchard Beach; siblings Gavin Karkos, Marina Karkos, Mariah Fitch and Brianna Fitch, both of Haverhill, Mass.; grandparents Earl and Bonnie Hardy of New Sharon, Rose Grimanis of Farmington; aunts and uncles Jodi Fitch of Farmington and Katie Fitch of Virginia, John Fitch of Virginia and Tony Grimanis of Temple, Jennifer and David Hawkins of Ormy, Texas, Jessica and David Roberts of Monument, Colo., Kimberly and Nicholas DiDonna of Wilton, Niki Lake of Chesterville, and Nina Lake of Farmington; several cousins.

He was predeceased by grandfathers Micheal Grimanis and James McNally.
