Mark A. Goldych

FARMINGDALE – Mark A. Goldych, of Farmingdale, passed in his home on Aug. 24, 2022, at the age of 64.

He was born on April 29, 1958 in Syracuse, N.Y. He lived in Maine for most of his life, spending the past 34 years in his Farmingdale home where he raised his three children. He was a devoted father who loved his family more than anything, including those he adopted into his heart over the years.

He was loyal to a fault and would give a stranger the shirt off his back if they needed it. He had an open-door policy to those seeking refuge with no questions asked, and asking nothing in return.

He was the king of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. A huge New England sports fan, but a diehard Patriots fanatic. He was a hard worker, most of which was spent in the construction industry. He was well known for his daily walks into town with his dog, Apa, wearing his Patriot’s jacket. His routine stops included Tigertown, The Depot Sports Pub, and Hannaford.

Mark is now walking alongside his daughter, Brittany Goldych; his dog, Apa; and many lifelong friends. He was also predeceased by both parents Paul Goldych and Glenda Tarr.

Mark leaves behind his daughter, Starr Goldych and fiancé, Brett Gray, their children Brynlee and Silas Gray; a son, Dalton Goldych and wife, Ashlee Goldych, their children Cole, Jackson, and Charlotte Goldych; two brothers Terry Goldych, and Brian Goldych, three sisters, Mary Gentilini, Tammy Sims, and Megan Huber; as well as several cousins; nieces and nephews; and close friends.

A celebration of life will be held at the American Legion, 46 Griffin St., in Gardiner, Sept. 16, from 5 to 9 p.m.

Arrangements are entrusted with Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the Staples Funeral Home website, http://www.staplesfuneralhome.com.
